Can you describe a typical day in your role?

Every day is different in the Acquisition and Retention team.

On a Tuesday and Thursday we work directly with our creative and media agencies in London, and spend the remainder of the week in Watford at Camelot HQ. We are fortunate to have strong, collaborative, working relationships with our agencies, in order to activate best in class creative and reach our players in the strongest digital environments.

As the Digital Acquisition Manager, my role is to acquire new players through inbound and outbound digital activation. These campaigns drive traffic towards The National Lottery website and app and ultimately encourage our players to register.

Throughout the day I work very closely with the Retention and Biddable team. We refine our communications and ensure we are reaching potential digital player at the right time, in the right digital space, with the right game.

As a team we have to be responsive to jackpots, game changes and the ever-changing digital world, so it can be very fast paced with huge number of campaigns going live at the same time. This keeps you on your toes but is equally very exciting!

All campaigns are developed with the player front of mind, and on a day-to-day basis we are consistently optimizing creative, briefing new copy, refining audiences to ensure our campaigns perform to the highest standard.

What does lunchtime look like for you?

My team sits down for lunch a few times a week which is great. Most of us aim for a healthy lunch but usually chocolate and cakes appear!

What's the best thing about your day?

The best part of my day is spending time with the team and knowing that we are working to make a difference with every digital campaign activation.

What challenges you the most?

I have recently stepped up into a new role which is incredibly exciting! There are lots of new opportunities arising within Digital.

A big focus for Camelot at the moment is to bring The National Lottery back to the heart of the nation - particularly 18-34 year olds. This can prove challenging in an ever-changing digital world but means we are constantly developing our knowledge of new channels and formats.

Tell us about your favourite work perks.

The perks at Camelot are great! In particular being able to expense our gym membership and take advantage of offers through SaveALott. The work life balance is also a stand out and means I have time for personal interests (cheerleading), family, hobbies etc.

Tell us your favourite story at work.

The Camelot Christmas party at Harry Potter Studios is a personal favourite moment. Especially when a team member had been drinking the ButterBeer all evening and eventually realised it was non-alcoholic.

What skills have you developed during your time at Camelot that you didn't expect to?

I have learnt so much throughout my time at Camelot. However, I didn’t expect to develop my creative skills to this extent, which is fortunately due to the exciting launch of Amazing Starts Here.

Over the past year, I have managed the EuroMillions creative development across all digital channels - constantly learning new platform requirements to produce best in class creative. I recently had the opportunity to attend a EuroMillions digital photoshoot which was brilliant, as we could be much more hands on and direct with our channel feedback.

What makes you proud to work at Camelot?

The life changing amounts of money that are raised for good causes on a national and local level. Knowing that every ticket purchased from our digital activation contributes to the £30M (on average) that is raised weekly is incredible! I am very proud to work for Camelot.
