Corporate Responsibility Governance

How we manage Corporate Responsibility

We aim to bring the outside in and use corporate responsibility to drive positive change across the business

Our Corporate Responsibility advisors

Our group of Corporate Responsibility (CR) advisors is a forum for independent experts and Camelot’s leadership team, chaired by Camelot’s CEO, to discuss continuous improvement in CR. Our advisors bring a wealth of experience with the aim to positively challenge Camelot.

Meet our advisors:

  • David Grayson CBE. Director of the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility at the Cranfield School of Management, Cranfield University
  • Sara Hanson, Director of Charitable Programmes, Disney
  • Andy McLellan, charities consultant, former Chief Executive of GamCare and senior civil servant
  • Emma Thomas, former CEO of YouthNet

Our owners have a vested interest in Corporate Responsibility

Our owner, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP), has always taken a responsible approach to investing on behalf of its members. While responsible investing is an evolving concept, with different interpretations that can be confusing, OTPP interprets it as follows:

  • Searching the world for the best investment opportunities for a mature pension plan like OTPP
  • Considering environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities that could affect overall corporate performance and have a material impact on investment value

OTPP believes profitable companies that are well run, respect the environment, and respect human and labour rights are good candidates for long-term investments. This is why OTPP is a signatory of UNPRI.
